These words seem to be a trend now among Christians. And while some might or might not understand the meaning. I want to shed more light on OUR GOD being INTENTIONAL.
Most times as Christians, we go through one thing or the other and sometimes we wonder how God will allow such things to happen to us.
Or take for a example, Leah who is yet to be released by the boko haram because she refused to deny Jesus. Some will wonder why God whom she was obviously living for would leave her to be held by them.
Look at the life of Joseph in the bible, his brothers plotted to kill him, and then later changed their mind to sell him to a strange land.
Most times we pray against a particular thing happening to us but that is just the exact thing happening. Sometimes we wake up scared as a result of a nightmare we had. Sometimes something terrible happens to us and we wonder and think on how all we have done throughout the day had been nothing but good if not outstanding.
But I want to tell you something, OUR GOD IS INTENTIONAL.
You will wonder how I’ve only talked about the bad and the uglies without mentioning the good, but it’s because am getting somewhere. Because when we talk about God being intentional a lot of people remember the song ‘intentional’ by Travis Greene. Where he said; “ all things are working out for our good”.
So that is why am trying to open our mind to the negative or rather opposite side of the words above. There are times when I will go through a bad day or something bad will happen to me or someone I know and then I will ask God why he let it happen. Then I was listening to one of Travis songs and at the end of it I heard. Our God is intentional and it spoke to me. That whatever I was going through, God knew about it and he was taking me somewhere or he was using it to teach me about a particular thing I will need to know in the future.
The moment you accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour and you allow him to be in charge of everything you do. Then whatever happens to you, whether good or bad is intentional. Rom 8:28 says: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Remember, God allowed Job to be tempted of the devil, not that he was a bad man or that he did anything wrong but because God wanted to prove to the devil that Job was worth the man he called him . Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
So the next time you go through something unexplainable and you wonder why God allowed this to happen to you.
Remember Job, God could be checking if that little trial could take his love away from your heart.
Remember Joseph, God could be building you to save the people around you, to inspire other people through your story.
Remember David, God could be making your boss or that person that has authority over you like your lecturer, your step parents, to give you tough times, because he is taking you to a greater and better place. The next time you go through hardships and also the next time something good happens to you. Remember, OUR GOD IS INTENTIONAL.

Books are my dearest companion in my alone days. And they will always be.
